Merry Christmas to all my DeviantArt friends, lurkers and followers and here is wishing you all a great 2013. Probably my final blog post for this year is the awarded images of Richard Cowing's images from the 2012 International Loupe Awards, one of the world's richest photo comps. Richard is a great photographer and works in my studio. He received 4 awards, with two images making the top 50.

I like to create what I describe as contemporary portraits. A contemporary portrait can mean lots of things to lots of people, but to me it is one that is not based upon old fashioned (aka boring) family in the studio shots, or even a great image shot out doors, but a image that has drama or emotion that aligns with current trends in fashion, art or media. It may be shot in Launceston, but does not have to always look like Launceston.
I thought it was time I wrote down how I do it. Not a full blown tutorial, but just a list really of my steps.
